Since the Arabic language is mindboggingly comprehensive, it stands to reason that a great deal of meaning will simply get lost in translation if you're not careful.

This is especially true since the majority of meanings in Arabic don't even come from the words. They come from vowels, patterns and grammatical structures. What in other languages requires separate words to communicate, Arabic does it through mere vowels and the way in which words are arranged.

Furthermore, since there are countless different ways to communicate even a basic meaning in Arabic, when the Qur'an uses a particular expression, word choice or sentence type over other possibilities, this adds even MORE MEANING. 

So a careless translation will miss many of these meanings. You will lose the flow and will feel that something is missing. If you've ever sat in a tafsir session, perhaps at a local masjid, and felt that something was missing, and the translation wasn't quite flowing the way you were expecting it would, it's because of this.

The ancient Arabians  (even those that chose not to become Muslim) understood the message of the Quran and they were MOVED. In fact, this is why they dropped down into prostration when they heard the Prophet ﷺ reciting the closing verses of surah al-najm. 

Eloquent speech is speech that moves its intended audience to a desired action. So the first thing you need in a tafsir class is a CAREFULLY FORMATTED TRANSLATION THAT MAINTAINS THIS EFFECT.

This brings us to the second thing you need in a tafsir class. The Prophet ﷺ presented arguments because Allah Most High commanded His Prophet ﷺ to guide people to the inference that Islam is true.

The reason the ancient Arabians who rejected the message of the Prophet ﷺ STILL fell  in sujood when they heard the final verses of surah al-najm being recited is because all of the arguments for why Islam is true had already been presented.

MUCH OF THE QURAN DOES NOT MAKE SENSE UNLESS YOU CAN SHOW SOMEONE WHY ISLAM IS TRUE!

So in these recordings I highlight for you these proofs that are on every page of the Qur'an. I unpack and explain them so you can gain confidence and speak about your deen openly and publicly.

I do this for you by referencing the principles of the Arabic language in nahw and balagha (grammar and rhetoric) so you can see exactly how everything I'm presenting is coming from the Arabic itself and is not just another "interpretation" or my personal opinion!

I draw predominantly on the best of what’s contained within the tafsir books of Imam Al-Aloosi and Imam Al-Baydhawi … so you don’t have to scour through volumes and rule out weaker interpretations to arrive at the intended meanings.

Linguistic commentaries such as these 2 and others like them (al-Zamakhshari and Abus Saood) provide some of the most brilliant explanations you will find anywhere, but those books are huge and overly complex! 

Moreover, these books were written before modern times and people had a very different view of the universe and science, so the earlier mufassiroon sometimes interpret the verses in a way that’s no longer relevant to Muslims in our time. 

Yet, the Quran is FULL of reasoning and rational evidence … The Qur’anic arguments ALONE can show conclusively why Islam is true!

This is why throughout the recordings I explain these things in my own words for the most part using the EXTENDED TRANSLATION approach without reading directly from the tafsir books.

Any tafsir of the Quran that does not highlight the evidence for why Islam is true is not really a tafsir at all!

The next few lessons will develop the 4 Quranic arguments, one by one, and address all modern objections.

The 4th argument pertains to miracles. All these arguments must be made in the proper order.

Speaking about miracles before establishing the earlier proofs is impossible.

So naturally, only now, do we begin speaking about miracles and studying the numerous streams of evidence that prove the genuine messengerhood of the Prophet ﷺ.

This includes Biblical prophecies, physical miracles, his miraculously perfect and impeccable character, the Quran itself and much, much more.

There will be a dedicated lesson developing each of these so you can know your Prophet ﷺ and never be affected by any of the lies people say about him.

In the final lessons of the course, we will address the purpose of life, resurrection and the theory of evolution and while speaking about evolution in particular, you'll see that we do not need to undermine science in any way.

We merely introduce one "data point" into the discussion that gives the entire discussion coherence. So even if evolution were true (generally speaking), it would be evidence FOR the existence of God.
